New Year - New Brides & Grooms

Well Happy New Year to everyone, even though I'm writing this nearly at the end of January as we have been so so busy with new couples getting married this year.  Every New Year is so exciting for us, meeting new faces, new venues, new themes we love it all!  One of our brides from last year sent us a really lovely Thank You letter after her wedding and she made a very good point, she said we should say exactly what we do for the couples because they had far more service than they expected so just to spell it out a little here goes!

We have an initial first meeting with all our couples, which can be at our Studio or at the Wedding Venue, your choice.

Sharon and I then have a design meeting and come up with some sketches, ideas, swatches etc for our couples to have a look at.

We then have a further meeting to finalise designs (this can be done via email, Skype or at the Studio).

We keep in touch with you to let you know of all progress made, any changes that may have to be made (very rarely but sometimes flowers can be very tempremental and not come into bloom when they should, or more often than not we will track down a beautiful new Rose which we feel looks even better than the original one chosen).

After the horrible subject of payment is sorted which is usually 3 weeks before the wedding date, we place our flower and sundries order and source any other items that are needed.  We always go to pick the flowers up ourselves from our Wholesaler as we want to double check the condition of them and sometimes we go a bit mad and add something extra!

We then usually spend a couple of days making all your beautiful designs.  We will liase with the Venue when we can set up and sort out who is receiving the buttonholes.

One the big day itself we will deliver all the bridal party flowers to the brides home or the venue.  We then set everything up, from the Chair Covers to the Table designs, the ceremony designs everything we make is set up by us.  We do not just deliver and go, it is extremely important to us that it all looks perfect after all its our reputation and your big day!

After you have had a fantastic wedding we then go along next day to pick up all hire items, chair covers etc, and where possible we always make designs that you can just pick up and take home with you.

Most importantly of all to understand is there is NO Charge for this service, we consider it as part of our job, we do not charge delivery within 30 miles of Oswestry and if we do its just to cover our fuel. 

Hope this all makes sense and if there is anything we can help you with we will, we firmly believe that No Bride or Groom should ever have to stand in the corner of a Florist shop ordering her flowers and then have them delivered by a delivery driver she has never met before.

Xmas at Lavender Blue Events

Wow, well where did this year go?  Sharon and I were reminiscing this week on all the weddings that we have had to pleasure of planning, designing floral arrangements and venue decorating this year and what a fab year we have had.  It is now 8 years since I started the business from a freezing cold corner of a barn (before it was renovated!), years of college and University, chill blains, broken nails, long nights, early mornings, but we still love our work.  This year we have had Church Weddings, Outside Weddings, Marquee Weddings, Village Hall Weddings, Barn Weddings, Stately Hall Weddings, Hotel Weddings and some really stick out in our minds.  The lovely wedding that we did at Lake Vyrnwy recently where the men went on a shoot before the wedding and then came back for Mulled Wine before getting changed for Church, the fantastic Marquee at Sweeney Hall in August that we decorated with over 500 stems of Gladioli, and the lovely barn at Soulton Hall where Jo and Dave had a 'Chabby Chic' theme, and now we are into the Xmas period and busy with our couples for next year planning their weddings.  We were also very delighted to be nominated for The National Wedding Industry Awards, we reached the finals of the Nationals and it was all thanks to our lovely couples who voted for us.

Our sister company Lavender Blue Florist gets really busy this time of year and the telephone doesn't stop ringing for Christmas flowers, Wreaths and garlands, www.lavenderblueflorist.com, we will have a break between Xmas and New Year and then its all hands to the deck again for 2012!

Autumn Winter Weddings and Events from Lavender Blue

We have had a really lovely Summer at Lavender Blue and have travelled around the Country to decorate venues and deliver flowers to our fantastic brides.  We have worked in Marquees, gorgeous venues, Church Hall, Village Halls, Pubs and stunning Stately Homes.  We have had enquiries from Couples who have asked how far we will travel, the answer is simple we will travel anywhere in the UK and Europe, all we need is a quiet corner to work in.

Wedding Consultation time is here again for 2012 Weddings and already lots of dates have filled for next year.  If you are getting married next year and would like to use our services please try and see us asap, just email or give us a call and we will slot you in.  Consultations take a minimum of an hour if you are having full wedding planning this will take a couple of hours.  We always ask our couples to bring with them any ideas they may have ie, themes, swatches of colour, have a think about what you like and don't like, for example some brides don't like Lillies and others love them, and most importantly of all please think about your budget!  If you have a budget in mind not matter what it is, it is far easier for us to work a package out for you.  No matter how small or how large your budget is we will always find ways of working with it, so don't be afraid to tell us!
